NegOcc’s active COVID cases surge to 301

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Negros Occidental climbed to 301 based on data released by the Department of Health (DOH) Region 6 yesterday.

Based on the DOH’s March 21 bulletin, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the province is at 7,084 with recoveries at 6,587 and fatalities at 193.

While the province posted zero new case yesterday, it logged 25 new cases last Saturday, of which 11 are noted as local cases, 13 locally stranded individuals (LSI) and one authorized persons outside of residence (APOR).

In a separate data released by the Negros Occidental Provincial Health Office (PHO) last Friday, March 19, majority bulk of the LSI and APOR cases in the province originated from Manila with 492 followed by Cebu with 312.

La Carlota City currently topped with the most number of active COVID-19 cases with 28. San Carlos City followed with 24 and Sagay City with 14 cases.

Only the towns of Candoni and Don Salvador Benedicto have posted no active cases./DGB, WDJ
