Golden State Warriors (GSW) halted its losing run by pulling off a 131-119 upset over Utah Jazz in the 2020-2021 NBA Season on Sunday night (Monday in the Philippines) at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
Stephen Curry led the way with 32 points, including six triples, while Andrew Wiggins chipped in 28 markers as the Warriors stayed at ninth place in the West with 20-19.
Jordan Poole also made his presence felt with 18 points, rookie James Wiseman finished with 16, while Draymond Green ended with triple-double 12 rebounds, 12 assists and 11 points for the Warriors.
Clinging to a slim 103-102 edge early in the fourth, the Warriors got conversions from Wiseman, Wiggins and Eric Paschall for a 107-102 edge before Poole unloaded nine straight points for a 118-109 edge.
The Jazz made its last push at 116-124 with two minutes left but a layup by Curry followed by consecutive free throws gave Warriors its largest lead at 12.
Rudy Gobert finished with double-double 24 points and 28 rebounds, while Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson added 24, 23 and 21, respectively, as the Jazz dropped to 28-10.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma City Thunder (17-22) bucked the absence of key players to pull off a 128-122 victory over Memphis Grizzlies (17-18).
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander top-scored with 30 points, Aleksej Pokusevski added double-double 23 points and 10 rebounds as Kenrich Williams contributed 17 points for the Thunder.
