Six drug suspects were arrested following a buy-bust operation at Palau Beach in Sitio Lower Caridad, Barangay Patun-an, Calatrava, Negros Occidental around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Authorities identified the arrested as Jhonny Allera alias “Dodong,” 25, and Rodcell John Fernandez, alias “Sel,” 19, both from San Juan Purok Tunga in Barangay 5, San Carlos City; Cyven Lirazan, 25, of V. Gustilo Street in Barangay 3, San Carlos City; Junel Batohanon, 22, of Barangay Bantayanon, Calatrava; Ralph Senador, 21, of Barangay Punao, San Carlos City; and Crislie Joy Bacalla, 20, of San Juan Purok Tunga in Barangay 5, San Carlos City.

The joint operatives of the Calatrava and San Carlos City police stations, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6, caught the suspects after the subjects of the operation, Allera and Fernandez, each handed a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover agent in exchange for P500 buy-bust money.

A total of 18 heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu and P800 cash believed to be illegal drug proceeds were confiscated from Allera, while Fernandez yielded a sachet of suspected shabu and other drug paraphernalia.

Police added that the seized illegal drugs weighed 6.48 grams and valued at P63,504.

The suspects were detained at the Calatrava Police Station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002./WDJ
