Fifty one of the 61 barangays in Bacolod City have been identified free of coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19 as of yesterday.
Based on the data of the Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center (EOC), these barangays have no reported active cases for the past 14 days, or from February 19 to March 4, 2021.
These 51 were barangays 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, Alijis, Cabug, Felisa, Granada, Montevista, Pahanocoy, Punta Taytay, Sum-ag, Tangub, and Vista Alegre.
As of Wednesday, March 3, Bacolod has 5,836 cumulative COVID-19 cases, of which 69 are active and 5,581 have recovered. The city, so far, logged 188 COVID-19 deaths.
Meanwhile, EOC said that the vaccination of frontliners from the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital and Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital (Riverside Medical Center) in the city is scheduled on Sunday, March 7.
Earlier on Wednesday Dr. Jane Juanico, infectious disease cluster head of the Department of Health Region 6, confirmed that some 8,438 vaccines from China’s Sinovac Biotech are expected to be delivered within this week. The CLMMRH will receive 1,642 anti-COVID shots while Riverside Medical Center will get 1,493.
Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical data and analysis of the EOC, also clarified that the vaccination will not be compulsory, but rather voluntary./WDJ
