Police Corporal Ronald Relyo, member of the Bacolod City Police Office Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) K-9 unit, said the owner of the junk shop was suspicious of the item that was sold to them and decided to contact police.

Relyo said they immediately went to the area and determined that it was indeed a live 105mm artillery shell. The EOD examined the explosives and determined that it had markings from the 1960s.

Relyo also reminded junk shop owners in the city to immediately contact them if they experience the same type of incident.
The EOD are expected to dispose of the two explosives./DGB, WDJ
