The provincial government of Negros Occidental may take control of the Negros First Cyber Centre by next month, according to Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz.
Diaz made the revelation after the province through Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and its joint venture agreement (JVA) partner which is the Negros Property Management Development Corp. (NPMDC) reached an agreement to enter into a Mutual Termination of the JVA for the management of the cyber centre Friday last week.
The NPMDC has already agreed to pay the province P57 million for the termination of the JVA.
“The governor was happy to hear that the compensation asked by the province will be paid by its partner and won’t be getting the funds from the government coffers anymore,” Diaz said.
The province through the Provincial Legal Office is now trying to formulate the Mutual Termination of the JVA between the capitol and the NMPDC.
By March, Diaz said, the province could already be in full control of the Cyber Centre./DGB, WDJ
