A man was shot to death by an unidentified suspect around 9:15 p.m. on Monday, February 1, at 1st Street, Barangay Progreso in Negros Occidental’s Binalbagan town.
Police identified the victim as 41-year-old Lester John Belbar, a resident of the village. He sustained five gunshot wounds on his body and was brought to the Binalbagan Infirmary where he was pronounced dead-on-arrival.
Binalbagan police investigation revealed that Belbar was in front of his neighbor’s house when he was shot by the gunman. The suspect then fled the scene onboard a motorcycle of a man waiting at a distance.
Police recovered from the crime scene five empty shells of .9mm-caliber.
Officers of the Binalbagan Police Station have yet to identify the suspect and the motive in the killing./WDJ
