PRO-6 nets 219 fugitives, 82 drug pushers in week-long ops

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) had arrested 219 wanted persons and 82 drug pushers in its one week of operations in relation to their “Birada Semana” program.

Records from the PRO-6 from January 18 to 24 showed that a total of 199 operations were conducted against wanted persons across Western Visayas which resulted to the arrest of 219 fugitives.

On the campaign against illegal drugs, 60 operations were conducted with 82 drug personalities arrested, of which 80 were in the watchlist and two were newly identified.

The drug operations also resulted to the seizure of a total of 508.157 grams of suspected shabu and four grams of marijuana with a Dangerous Drug Board value of P5.4 million.

Meanwhile, 58 operations were staged against illegal gambling which resulted in the arrest of 193 persons.

Furthermore, on the campaign against loose firearms, 12 operations were conducted and 13 persons were arrested which resulted to the confiscation of a total of 13 explosive and 141 firearms.

PRO-6 director, Police Brigadier General Rolando Miranda, congratulated all police units in the region for delivering accomplishments for this is week.

“I urged my personnel to continue working and coordinate with the community and other stakeholders,” Miranda added./WDJ
