A 49-year-old laborer landed in a hospital after he got hacked on Saturday, January 16, in Barangay Ingay, Tubungan, Iloilo.

Tubungan police said John Francis Trasadas of Tigbauan town’s Barangay Binaliuan sustained hack wounds on his forehead, left elbow and knees and was brought to the Tubungan Rural Health Unit.

Police investigation revealed that the victim was walking when the suspect identified as 39-year-old Rey Saad of Barangay Cararaan, Leon, Iloilo, approached and hacked him without apparent reason.

The suspect fled after the incident but he was later arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Leon.

Saad is now detained at the Tubungan Police Station./WDJ
