A couple was injured when a sport utility vehicle (SUV) they were riding collided with a dump truck at Barangay Bungca, Barotac Nuevo in Iloilo province yesterday.

Police said 29-year-old Mark Jason Santos and his wife, Dianne Mae, residents of the town’s Barangay Lagubang, were brought to the town’s Don Jose Monfort Medical Center Extension Hospital.

Barotac Nuevo police report showed that the couple was riding a Toyota Innova going to Anilao town when a dump truck driven by 25-year-old Renz Delgado of the town’s Barangay Tabucan overtook another vehicle and collided with the victims’ vehicle.

Delgado tried to escape after the accident but he was later arrested by police officers.

He was detained at the Barotac Nuevo Police Station, facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting to physical injuries./WDJ
