June Mar Fajardo is good to return for the San Miguel Beermen as they aim to reclaim the lost PBA Philippine Cup championship come Season 46 beginning April 9.

San Miguel Corp. (SMC) sports director Alfrancis Chua said over the weekend that the Cebuano center has been given a go signal by the renowned Dr. George Canlas to return to playing.
“We’re expecting him to play next conference or this season,” said Chua during his guest appearance in “The Chasedown” last Saturday. “Doc (George) Canlas said may go signal na siya to play.”
Fajardo, the reigning six-time PBA MVP awardee, missed the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup held in the Clark, Pampanga after sustaining a gruesome leg injury in practice last February.
The absence of the Gilas Pilipinas national men’s basketball team center has ended the Beermen’s reign as five-time All-Filipino conference champions a year ago.
With the end of Beermen’s PBA Philippine Cup domination, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings have taken over their throne following a 4-1 conquest of TNT Tropang Giga in the finals.
Chua didn’t take away anything from the Kings’ Philippine Cup coronation but he admitted that things could have been different had Fajardo stayed healthy and played for the Beermen.
“Nothing to take away from Ginebra but iba siguro kung andun si June Mar for San Miguel,” Chua said./ASC, WDJ
