Two men were caught carrying suspected shabu at a checkpoint in Barangay Luna, Toboso, Negros Occidental on Saturday morning, January 2.

Police identified the arrested as 21-year-old Ryljan Yamba and 20-year-old Kevin Mark Reigo De Dios, both residents of Barangay Balintawak in Escalante City.

Toboso police said they flagged down the two who were riding in a motorcycle without wearing helmets.

The two tried to avoid the checkpoint but they accidentally fell into a canal.

Police officers confiscated from the suspects three sachets of suspected shabu, two cellphones and a pouch.

The suspects were detained at the Toboso Police Station./WDJ
