The active cases of coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19, in Western Visayas continue to decline.
Based on the COVID-19 Regional Case Bulletin No. 275 released by the Department of Health (DOH) 6 on December 27, the region has 862 remaining active cases out of the 21,429 cumulative cases.
The remaining active cases include the 18 additional confirmed cases recorded on Dec. 27.
Basing on the disposition of these active cases, data showed that 77.84 percent of the total active cases are asymptomatic, 15.31 percent are mild while 6.38 percent are severe.
Negros Occidental has the most number of active cases with 387, followed by Iloilo province with 162, Iloilo City – 128, Bacolod City – 82, Aklan – 66, Capiz – 22, Guimaras – 9, and Antique – 6.
The Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center, meanwhile, revealed yesterday that the city now only has 46 remaining active cases of COVID-19 based on real time data.
The region also logged a total of 19,921 COVID-19 patients who have already recovered from the disease while 631 have died of the deadly disease./WDJ
