The Task Force (TF) Disiplina will resume their operations against individuals who are not wearing face shields in Bacolod City, Wilfredo Geolingo, action officer of the group, said yesterday.

Proper wearing of face shields is now mandatory in public places in Bacolod, under City Ordinance 944.

This is on top of practicing social distancing and wearing of face masks.

Seven persons were initially apprehended for not wearing face shields in the city last month.

However, there had been no apprehension this December due to humanitarian reasons, Geolingo said.

He said that those who were caught not wearing face shields are claiming theirs were broken, lost or they could not afford to buy it, and some had left their face shields at home.

Several elderly ones also complained that they felt hot and could not breathe if they have face shields on, he also said.

Geolingo said they are more on education and giving out warnings especially on those selling goods at the markets to wear their face shields when dealing with customers to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

Meanwhile, four individuals, who were selling viands, were apprehended for not wearing face masks in Bacolod last week, Geolingo said.

Violators who were caught not wearing face shields and face masks are issued citation tickets and they should pay the penalty of P300 for non-Bacolod residents and P200 for Bacolod residents at the Bacolod City Government Center, he added./SG, WDJ
