A construction worker was gunned down in a “sari-sari” store near the entrance of Campuestohan Highland Resort in Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City in Negros Occidental, around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Police identified the victim as 57-year-old Julieto Rosalem Sr., a native of Negros Occidental’s Binalbagan town and temporarily residing at a farm in Barangay Cabatangan.
Talisay City Police Station investigator, Police Corporal Aljon Bautista, said yesterday that Rosalem had an initial wound on his head.
However, this is still being subjected to an autopsy to determine the total number of gunshot wounds Rosalem had and the real cause of his death.
Bautista said that Rosalem, who was working at the said resort, had just gotten his salary and decided to have a drinking session alone at a sari-sari store,.
Police recovered from the crime scene an empty shell and a slug of unknown caliber of firearm/s.
The police are eyeing two suspects, who were also drinking at the separate table at the store.
Meanwhile, witnesses heard two gunshot wounds and saw the suspects immediately left the area on foot, Bautista said.
He said they already have the name of one of the suspects but they could not still determine who among them shot Rosalem.
The body of Rosalem was brought to the Manapla Funeral Homes./WDJ
