The Iloilo provincial government through the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) purchased P4 million worth of canine rabies vaccines.

PVO officer-in-charge, Dr. Daryl Tabuada, said the rabies vaccines procured under the supplemental budget of P4 million is equivalent to 10,000 vials.

The vials, which will be allocated to the province’s 42 municipalities and one component city, could vaccinate a total of 100,000 dogs. The vaccination will start January until May, 2021.

Tabuada said barangays that have canine and human positive cases and those in high risk areas such as the poblacion and other highly populated areas will be prioritized.
