The Negros Occidental Food Terminal, also known as “Pala-pala,” located along North Capitol Road in Bacolod City, has reopened on Thursday.
Provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said all close contacts of the provincial government’s job order worker who succumbed to COVID-19 earlier this week had tested negative for the novel coronavirus.
Diaz also said 19 security guards have also undergone COVID-19 testing and all of them have also tested negative for the virus, and subsequently allowed to return home after days of being locked down in the food terminal.
Earlier on Monday the food terminal was placed on lockdown after the job order worker, who passed away last November 22, tested positive for COVID-19.
The said worker was the second provincial government employee to die of COVID-19 following the regular employee assigned at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan who died last August./DGB, WDJ
