Don Salvador Benedicto (DSB) town in Negros Occidental will allow Christmas parties to be held under certain conditions and limitations.

In a radio interview over RMN DYHB-Bacolod yesterday morning, Don Salvador Benedicto Mayor Marxlen Dela Cruz said Christmas parties may be held only in resorts accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT).

Dela Cruz said as of the moment, three of the town’s five resorts have secured an accreditation from the DOT.

However, Dela Cruz said the resorts are ordered to strictly observe the health protocols imposed by the Department of Health (DOH), including limiting the number of guests based on the regulations of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) during modified general community quarantine.

Dela Cruz also made an appeal to the resort guests to as much as possible avoid interacting with local residents in order to avoid COVID-19 transmission.

Don Salvador Benedicto had been strictly implementing health protocols for visitors ever since it reopened its borders to tourists.

Among the actions taken by the local government is to deploy health enforcers which patrol the establishments and tourist spots in the town during the weekends.

As of November 17, the town has zero active COVID-19 cases, although they have 25 persons under monitoring./DGB, WDJ
