At least P500,000 worth of suspected shabu weighing around 60 grams was seized 12:40 p.m. yesterday following a buy-bust operation at Zone 1, Barangay Daga in Iloilo province’s Sta. Barbara town.
Police identified the arrested as 43-year-old Rhona Susbilla of Barangay Dalid, Sta. Barbara, 40-year-old Joan Sorongon of Barangay Daga and 38-year-old Cornelio Somcio of Barangay Cafe, Sta. Barbara.
The three were nabbed after they sold two heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu for P50,500.
Joint operation of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit team 3 led by Police Lt. Glenn Soliman and Sta. Barbara Municipal Police Station led by Police Maj. Raymund Celoso also confiscated a blue sling bag containing 10 heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu; suspected drug proceeds amounting to P5,040; and a cellphone from Sorongon, and another cellphone from Somcio.
The suspects are now detained at the Sta. Barbara Municipal Police Station, facing charges for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./WDJ
