Negrense boxer Aston Palicte aims to extend his winning run as he faces fellow Filipino Reymark Taday in “The Restart” card slated on November 21 at the Sanman Gym in General Santos City.

PALICTE

The Bago City, Negros Occidental-native is aiming for his second consecutive win following his second round stoppage win over Jonathan Francisco just before the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Palicte, who transferred to Sanman Promotions of Jim Claude Manangquil, was on a comeback trail following his unsuccessful 2019 campaign where he was defeated by Kazuto Ioka for WBO super flyweight title and to fellow Negrense Renz Rosia.

The 29-year-old Palicte will be entering the eight-round 118 pound match with 26-4-1 win-loss-draw ring record, including 22 stoppage wins, while the 26-year-old Taday has 10-12-1 slate, with five knockout wins.

Also in the fight card were the matchups between Marlon Tapales and Eden Sonsona, Dave Apolinario versus Bonjun Loperez, Michael Casama vs Vergil Degoma, and the battle between Joey Canoy and Jovab Lucas.

Manangquil said he was delighted of boxing return after months of inactivity due to COVID-19 crisis.

The event will be broadcasted via livestream on Facebook./ASC, WDJ
