Ambulance driver killed in road crash

An ambulance driver died while four other people were injured following a vehicular accident 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, at the corner of Lacson-San Sebastian Streets in Bacolod City’s Barangay 32.

Police Station 1 identified the fatality as Jessie James Tranilla, while those injured were 32-year-old nurse Maria Cajeras and Jose Francisco Sombero III, residents of Bacolod; 78-year-old Vicente Limaco of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental; and Genesis Graellos of Murcia town.

Police investigation revealed that the ambulance driven by Tranilla was travelling from south to Lacson Street when it was accidentally hit by a Mitsubishi Montero driven by 21-year-old Kenny J Arillo of the city’s Barangay Alijis.

Tranilla lost control of the ambulance and it hit the JMC van driven by Graellos.

Arillo was detained at the Police Station 1 for proper disposition./WDJ
