Leigh Andee Rodriguez of Bacolod City settled for a bronze medal finish in the 2020 Smart/MVP Sports Foundation Global Taekwondo Online Speedkicking Championships held recently.

Rodriguez, a standout of the Negros Taekwondo Union-Tigers New Gen (NTU-TNG) stable, finished with bronze medal in the junior female finweight/flyweight category.

This STI-West Negros University student finished behind gold medal winner Sofia Ysabelle Sarmiento, silver medalist Lei Ramon and fellow bronze medal winner Rain Ramon.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez’s fellow NTU-TNG taekwondo jin Miguel Zapata failed to land a medal finish in his event.

The online taekwondo event, which was hosted by the Philippine Taekwondo Association, was the first-ever in the world where athletes will have to perform the most number of kicks in a minute./ASC, WDJ
