A 14-year-old boy drowned after he was swept away by flood in an overflow at Hacienda Paz in Cadiz City’s Barangay Tinampaan.

Authorities identified the fatality as Grade 9 student Kero Bitong, a resident of the said village.

Cadiz City police investigation revealed that the victim went swimming in the overflow with his friends around 9:00 a.m. on October 31.

He was reported missing around 3:40 p.m. and after a 40-minute search and rescue operation, his body was found inside a culvert in the overflow.

The teen was rushed to Cadiz City Emergency Clinic but was declared dead-on-arrival by attending physician./ WDJ
