The head of the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI), Frank Carbon, told his fellow businessmen to hang on as the economy in Western Visayas starts opening its doors for business.

In his social media post over the weekend, Carbon lauded the recent return of fast craft services between the cities of Bacolod and Iloilo.

Based on the data released by Philippine Coast Guard-Negros Occidental last Saturday, they have logged a total of 353 inbound and outbound passengers on the first day of resumption of fast craft trips.

Carbon also lauded the National Inter-Agency Task Force’s omnibus guidelines for inter-zonal and intra-zonal movement which order the unhampered movement of people and goods.

“The National IATF FOR COVID is encouraging all LGUs to start stirring up their local economy,” he said.

He further stated the Landbank of the Philippines and the Development Bank of the Philippines have funds for local government units to create programs to regain the confidence of the local businesses to open their stores and reinvest.

“Bacolod today, tomorrow the whole region,” Carbon added./DGB, WDJ
