A laborer was shot dead in Binalbagan town’s Barangay Biao around 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26.

Binalbagan police chief Major Fernando Somblingo, Jr. identified the fatality as 47-year-old Blas Urbano, Jr. of Sitio Apitong Uno in Barangay Biao. He sustained gunshot wounds on his head and body.

According to Binalbagan Police Station, Urbano was walking to his cousin’s house. Three unidentified suspects were already hiding in a sugarcane field, waiting for him. One of the suspects shot the victim, police added.

Police recovered two empty shells of caliber .45 from the crime scene.

As of this writing, officers of the Binalbagan Police Station have yet to identify the suspects and the motive in the killing./WDJ
