2 Antique murder suspects arrested in Murcia

Two murder suspects from Antique were arrested by police in two separate places in Negros Occidental’s Murcia town last Thursday.

Police identified the suspects as 65-year-old Ramon Nario and 55-year-old Romeo Pantaleon, all of Sitio Calawgan Centro Sur in Tibiao town in Antique.

Judge Mario Andres, Jr. of the Regional Trial Court – Branch 64 in San Jose, Antique issued the arrest warrant for the crime of murder dated August 7, 2020.

Nario was arrested by police around 3:00 p.m. at Purok Wawa in Barangay Pandanon, while Pantaleon who is temporarily residing at Hacienda Bernabe in Barangay Salvacion was arrested in the place around 7:40 p.m.

The suspects were detained at the Murcia Municipal Police Station and o bail was recommended for their temporary liberty. They are currently awaiting transfer to Antique.

The suspects were also noted to be hired sugar migrant workers or “sacadas” who were deployed in Negros Occidental./DGB, WDJ
