22 barangays are now Covid-19 free

The number of daily Covid-19 cases in Bacolod City has dropped by 70 percent for the month of October.
In a live interview over Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod, Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the number of the cases in the city has drastically dropped compared to the month September wherein the city logged 165 cases in one day, the highest recorded for the city.
Leonardia pointed out Bacolod City is one of the biggest cities in Western Visayas and therefore it is not impossible that the number of Covid-19 infections was also high.
The city’s recovery rate has also risen by 87 percent, and the city is now third in Region 6 for the most number of recoveries, alongside Antique and Guimaras.
He also revealed that 22 of the 61 barangays in the city are now Covid-19 free.
He said around 26,056 residents of the city have undergone swab testing, which is five percent of the city’s total population.
As of the latest, Bacolod has a total of 4,689 cases, 4,131 of which have recovered, 119 fatalities, and 439 are active cases./DGB, WDJ
