Live-in partners yield grenade, guns, ‘shabu’

Two persons were arrested in a police raid around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, at Purok Everlasting, located in Hinobaan town’s Barangay Talacagay.

Authorities identified the suspects as live-in partners Fedelyn Santocildes, 40, and Jhonrey Ejera, 30, residents of the said place.

They were arrested in a joint operation of the Hinobaan police led by Police Major Clifford Batadjay and 2nd Negros Occidental Police Mobile Force Company through the strength of a search warrant issued by Judge Rodney Magbanua of Regional Trial Cours-Branch 61 in Kabankalan City dated October 14, 2020.

Police confiscated a hand grenade; a .38 caliber revolver; nine live bullets of .38 caliber revolver; a .45 caliber magazine with seven live bullets; homemade shotgun; five live bullets of 12-gauge shotgun; one unit of video karera machine; two heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu weighing 6 grams with an estimated market value of P40,800; and other drug paraphernalia.

The suspects were detained at the Hinobaan police station and charged in violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./WDJ
