Bacolodnon guard Kirell Brahndon “Kib” Montalbo of the TNT Tropang Giga emerged as champion after topping the final round of the PBA Three-point Shootout Charity Virtual Tournament.
The Bacolod City-native rookie finished the final round with 238 points, beating Alaska Aces’ Robbie Herndon (234) and Meralco Bolts’ Nard John Pinto (222).
He took home the P250,000 top prize, which will be donated to the chosen charity of the Tropang Giga.
The former De La Salle University Green Archers guard entered the championship round after defeating fellow Bacolodnon Justin Chua of the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, while he edged San Miguel Beermen’s Von Pessumal in the quarterfinals.
The virtual tournament was participated by 24 players, two each from the 12 PBA squads. The tournament matches were held using the mobile app game PBA Slam.
Meanwile, the 6-footer Montalbo is currently sidelined for the league-leading Tropang Giga after sustaining a plantar fascia injury during his debut game against the Aces.ASC, WDJ
