Victorias City Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca on Monday night issued an executive order implementing the temporary closure of the city hall after a city employee recently tested positive for Covid-19.
According to Palanca, the temporary closure aims to give way for the disinfection of the city hall offices and annexed buildings which would last until today.
Palanca stated that during the temporary closure they will also conduct contact tracing and RT-PCR tests of city employees who may have had close contact with confirmed Covid-19 positive employee.
Despite the temporary closure, the city mayor said the city government will continue its work by adopting a work-from-home arrangement.
Based on data released by the Victorias City Health Office as of October 12, the city has a total of 125 Covid-19 cases with 95 recoveries. Twenty four are currently tagged as suspected cases, while they have also recorded two fatalities./DGB, WDJ
