Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo and his wife Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo tested negative for COVID-19 on Wednesday, October 14.

The Degamo couple underwent swab testing after a malicious post on Facebook claimed that they were positive with the coronavirus.
The mayor and her companions tested negative after arriving from Manila recently. The governor on the other hand was reactive to an RDT test.
The governor also said that he never went to the country’s capital.
He said that he had ordered an investigation into those who spread false rumors on social media.
As of October 14, Negros Oriental has a total of 191 local Covid-19 cases, with only eight active cases.
The province also logged five Covid-19 fatalities, while 178 have already recovered from the disease./DGB, WDJ
