Negros Occidental has a recovery rate of 66 percent of the total confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases, a report from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed.
PHO report showed that of the 3,790 confirmed Covid-19 cases as of October 13, a total of 2,486 have recovered.
Of the total number, 1,218 are active cases. PHO also recorded 86 Covid-19 deaths.
A total of 2,988 are asymptomatic while the remaining 802 cases are symptomatic.
Males comprise the majority of the Covid-19 patients or 1,950 cases while females cases are at 1,840, the report said.
Talisay City continues to lead all local government units in Negros Occidental with the most number of total and active Covid-19 cases.
Data from the PHO said that as of October 13, Talisay has 566 cases, 185 of which are active cases.
The city also ranked the highest in local Covid-19 local transmission with 179 of the total cases or 93 percent.
However, as of October 14, the city has not reported any new cases, a first since August 29 based on a separate report issued by the Talisay City Public Information Office and the City Health Office (CHO).
The provincial government also reported that of the 1,134 rooms in its given quarantine facilities, 337 are occupied and 797 are available for occupancy.
Meanwhile, in Bacolod City, there are 41 new cases reported on October 14 bringing to 4,481 the total number of cases. Bacolod CHO said 618 of these are active cases.
A report from the Bacolod CHO also showed that as of Oct. 13, there were five new recoveries or a total of 3,747 recovered cases. Recovery rate in the City is pegged at 83.62 percent of the confirmed cases./DGB, WDJ
