Three individuals were arrested Monday after police caught them playing ‘tong-its,’ an illegal card game, in Barangay Zone 7, Pulupandan, Negros. Occidental.

Police identified the arrested as 28-year-old Lormae Estrabon, 28-year-old John Arvie Santillan and 21-year-old Ariel Casildo, all of the said neighborhood.

The group was arrested at 1:00 p.m. with police confiscating a set of playing cards and bet money amounting to P29.

The three are currently detained at the Pulupandan Police Station and face charges in violation of RA 9287, an amendment to Presidential Decree 1602, which implemented penalties on illegal gambling./WDJ
