Taekwondo jins from Negros Taekwondo Union-Tigers New Gen recently dominated an online tournament winning 30 medals—12 gold, 12 bronze and six silver medals.
Capturing gold medals in poomsae event were Jamie Hannah Agaloos, Christelle Avancena, Julian Ignatius Sabay, Christophe Avancena, Francine Launio, Diego Cristales, and Arthur Diaz.
Winning silver medals were Nieka Ferrer, Kenjie Aunzo, Manuel Machado III, and Leigh Andee Rodriguez, while bronze medal winners were Alexander Maranon, Willroid Paz, Ianne Treyes, Prince Fiel Delas Alas, and John William Torres.
Netting goals in speed kicking were Christelle and Christophe Avancena, Launio, Treyes and Cipriano Lumanog, while Sabay and Machado captured silver medals.
Settling for bronze medal finish in speed kicking were Maranon, Ferrer, Delas Alas, Diaz, Aunzo, and Theressha Avancena.
“At the very beginning of the pandemic, our priority was how to make the children’s dead-time productive. Winning was only secondary,” said Negros Taekwondo Union-Tigers New Gen coach Jean Pierre Sabido.
“But, through our combined efforts, we finished with the highest medal tally and the most number of gold medals in the online tournament,” he added./ASC, WDJ
