Provincial Incident Management Team Commander Zeaphard Caelian said domestic and sweeper flights coming from Manila will continue at the Bacolod-Silay Airport despite the recent moratorium on incoming flights to Negros Occidental.
According to Caelian, pre-arranged and pre-approved flights will be allowed to operate until September 15.
He pointed out as long as there has been a previous arrangement between the local government unit and the national government, flights at the airport will still continue.
Since Bacolod City has been placed under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), returning residents of the city will temporarily be barred from boarding their flights in Manila.
The recent MECQ declaration has also affected the arrival of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from Bacolod City, as well as returning overseas Filipino workers.
However, LSIs who are residents of other LGUs in the province are not affected by the travel ban./DGB, WDJ
