Two inmates of the Negros Occidental District Jail (NODJ) in Bago City have bolted out of their cells early Monday morning.
NODJ warden, Jail Chief Inspector Norberto Miciano, Jr., identified the two escapees as Jimmy Sablon, a resident of Barangay Robles, La Castellana town; and Ramonito Ventura, a resident of Barangay Buenavista, Murcia.
Miciano said Sablon has been charged with frustrated murder, while Ventura is facing charges of robbery and illegal possession of firearms.
Based on NODJ’s initial investigation, the two inmates destroyed one of the grills of their jail dormitory and bolted out around 4:00 a.m.
Guards discovered the breakout around 6:00 a.m. while they were conducting a routine headcount.
Miciano said they immediately visited the two escapees’ families and relatives in their respective hometowns.
A reward of P10,000 is being offered to anyone who could provide information to the whereabouts of the two escapees.
Miciano added they also warned the inmates’ families and relatives not to help the two, otherwise they will also face criminal charges.
A manhunt operations against the two have also been launched./DGB, WDJ
