The total number of coronavirus disease 2019, or Covid-19, cases in Western Visayas has exceeded the 4,000-mark, the Department of Health – Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) 6 said.

The region logged on Saturday 180 confirmed cases and 107 recoveries. This brings the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the region to 4,253, and total recoveries to 2,239.

Meanwhile, six new deaths were recorded Saturday.

Bacolod City logged the highest number of the day’s new infections with 131; Negros Occidental had 28; Iloilo City, 16; and Iloilo province, five.

Meanwhile, the 107 who recovered was broken down into 60 for Negros Occidental, 26 for Iloilo City, 13 for Iloilo province, and five for Bacolod.

The six new deaths that were recorded brought the total number of fatalities in the region to 66. The six were from Bacolod, Iloilo City and Iloilo province with two each. (With report from PNA)
