Six were arrested on Saturday, August 29, for illegal cockfighting in Barangay Talacdan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.

Authorities identified the arrested as 39-year-old Aming Losibar of the said place; Paterno Orense and 40-year-old Abet Moreno of Kabankalan City; 68-year-old Eleuterio Arbolado; 40-year-old  Rogie Calingcag of Candoni; and 39-year-old Ronald Geralao of Ilog.

Police said the group was caught in the act engaging in illegal cockfighting and confiscated 14 game fowls and bet money amounting to P200.

The six were detained at the Cauayan Police Station and face charges in violation of Presidential Decree 449, or the Cockfighting Law of 1974./WDJ
