The crime rate in Negros Occidental has decreased by 38.56% during the August 17 to 23, 2020 period compared to the August 10 to 16 period.

According to Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), there were only eight incidents during the recent week compared to 13 in the previous week.

Records also show that NOPPO conducted a total of 14 anti-drug operations wherein 19 suspects were arrested and 19 cases were filed in court, and 63.979 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P383,874 were seized.

These anti-drug operations were commended by Philippine National Police Chief Police General Archie Gamboa during his update report via Facebook earlier this week.

NOPPO has also conducted another 18 successful operations resulting in the arrest of 71 individuals. Three most wanted individuals and 50 other wanted persons were nabbed, based on NOPPO’’s records./DGB, WDJ
