Around 556 locally stranded individuals (LSIs) originating from the town of Tabuelan in Cebu have arrived at the Danao Port in Escalante City, Negros Occidental late Monday night.

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Negros Occidental chief, Lt. Commander Jansen Benjamin, said 42 service vehicles from different local government units in Negros Occidental, as well as the PCG’s own bus were loaded into roll-on/roll-off vessels in Escalante City.

Once in Cebu, the buses picked up the LSIs and returned back to the Negros-bound vessels.

Benjamin added upon the arrival of the LSIs, they were immediately subjected to the health protocols imposed by the provincial government such as requiring them to undergo swab testing and placing them on a 14-day quarantine in their respective LGU facilities./DGB, WDJ
