A man with alleged links to illegal drugs was shot dead Friday night, August 21, at Purok Sigay in Bacolod City’s Barangay 2.

Police identified the fatality as 48-year-old Eduardo Garcia, a resident of the said place.
Police Station 2 (PS2) commander, Police Captain Leo Estopa, said the victim had just bought food from a barbecue stall when he was approached by two unidentified men who shot him in the head.
The gunmen then boarded two motorcycles and immediately sped away from the crime scene.
Garcia was immediately rushed to the Riverside Medical Center for treatment, but later succumbed to his head wound two hours after the incident.
Estopa said they are currently eyeing two motives in the incident, personal grudges and illegal drugs.
According to the police commander, Garcia had a history of being a “hot-tempered” individual and he had also been arrested previously for possession of illegal drugs.
Police are still conducting further investigation to the incident./DGB, WDJ
