A Barangay Manlocahoc, Sipalay City-native was shot dead around 11:47 p.m. on August 14 at Sitio Tigmaya in Candoni town’s Barangay Gatuslao.

According to Police Captain Ronald Santillan, OIC police chief of Candoni Police Station, the incident occurred while the 64-year-old victim, Jemuel Villar Prasio, was sitting alone on a bench beside the road. He was observed to be under the influence of liquor.

An unidentified gunman shot the victim and was struck in the back.

The suspect immediately escaped.

As of this writing, officers of Candoni Police Station have yet to identify the suspect and the motive in the killing./WDJ
