The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Bacolod City last Friday, August 14, has issued a warning to sellers of face shields not to engage in overpricing.

CIDG-Bacolod head, Police Chief Master Sgt. Ramiro Gocotano, said they have received reports that someone had been hoarding face shields and hiding it in a warehouse.

Gocotano said they are still validating the information, although he noted the individual is planning to sell the face shields at highly inflated prices.

The local CIDG chief said sellers of face shields must not exceed the suggested retail price of P26 to P50.

Face shields’ mandatory use in public transportation started on Saturday, August 15, to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019./DGB, WDJ
