Senator Manny Pacquiao revealed he tested negative for the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19. The boxing champion released a statement indicating he retrieved the results through a rapid test kit from South Korea.

“Huwag po kayong mag-alala (Don’t worry),” the senator said. “Gamit ang rapid test kit na approved sa Korea, ako po ay nag-negatibo (I used a rapid test kit, which is approved in South Korea, and I tested negative for Covid-19).”

“May natanggap po akong rapid testing kits mula sa aking mga kaibigan sa South Korea (I received rapid test kits from friends in South Korea),” he added.

Pacquiao is currently under self-quarantine after coming into close contact with Senator Aquilino Pimentel III, who recently tested positive for the coronavirus, and acknowledged the test kit administered to him is not yet approved by the Philippine government’s Food and Drug Administration and may be re-tested by the Department of Health./ASC, WDJ
