A physician assigned to the Cadiz District Hospital went on quarantine and was designated as patient under investigation for the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19. Provincial health officer, Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, said they are currently gathering data and may reveal the details of their findings today.

The doctor had reportedly gone on leave and was not reporting at the hospital. The doctor’s husband is reportedly from Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Binalbagan Mayor Alejandro Mirasol yesterday revealed the patient under investigation who recently died in the town tested negative for Covid-19.

The female victim, who was in her 50s, died at a hospital in Kabankalan City from pneumonia and was also diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver./DGB, WDJ
