Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia approved the release of P30 million worth of the city’s Emergency Food Assistance Program, which will benefit low-income and displaced families amid the ongoing situation surrounding the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19.
The fund will be used to purchase rice, canned goods, and noodles.
“We assure our people that this food assistance is on top of our priorities,” the mayor said.
He noted, Public Affairs and Assistance Division personnel, along with barangay officials and volunteers, will begin distribution soon.
