The barangay captain for Bacolod City’s Barangay Alijis endorsed the city government’s plan to convert the South Hills Academy, which is located in the said neighborhood, as a quarantine facility for persons under monitoring for the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19.

Barangay Alijis Captain Deogracias Dela Vega pointed, converting the school is an advantage as they can “easily refer” their own barangay’s persons under monitoring to the facility.

They also insisted there is nothing to be afraid of as the facility will only be used for those under monitoring and not individuals showing Covid-19 symptoms.

The barangay official also urged residents living nearby to support the decision, saying, “It is for everyone’s good, especially since the number of cases in the country is still rising.”/DGB, WDJ
