The Philippine Army 303rd Infantry Brigade, headed by Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte, yesterday provided assistance in unloading food packs intended for families across Negros Occidental. Around 2,400 were unloaded and are set for distribution.
The program, initiated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Region VI, seeks to provide relief for families affected by the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19.
Earlier this week, Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led a meeting of officials from across the province, including military and law enforcement, where they discussed the impending enhanced community quarantine, which is set to go into effect on Monday.
“To our fellow Negrenses, we must do our part to help our government fight against Covid-19,” the military official said. “Obey and follow all guidelines and safety tips set forth by our government to help to contain Covid-19.” (PR)
