A 2.0-magnitude earthquake was detected yesterday morning around 5:45 a.m. near San Carlos City. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the tremor’s epicenter was located 14 kilometers south of the city.
A subsequent bulletin from the government agency indicated there were no damages as a result of the quake nor were there any anticipated aftershocks.
Quakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, where the tremor goes almost undetected./WDJ
