Pontevedra kagawad killed by armed robber

A barangay kagawad in Pontevedra, Negros Occidental was killed Monday after he was shot by armed robber at a store located in the town’s Barangay Antipolo. Police identified the fatality as 45-year-old Edward Dominic Algara, a resident of the said barangay.
Pontevedra municipal police chief, Police Captain Rhojn Darell Nigos, said an unidentified man entered Algara’s feeds store, pointed a .45 caliber pistol, and declared a hold-up.
The suspect then shot Algara, who was struck twice on his head and left side of his body.
The robber walked away and fled toward an unknown direction, while the victim was rushed to the Valladolid District Hospital where he was declared dead-on-arrival by hospital staff.
Police are still trying to identify the gunman who witnesses said was wearing a bonnet, and black jacket. The suspect was also described as having a “big body build” with an estimated height of 5’9″./DGB, WDJ
